Regional Nurse Manager - Job Overview

Schedule: 8AM-5PM

As Regional Nurse Manager, you’ll help create and sustain an environment where quality patient care can thrive. You’ll provide clinical leadership across designated departments, support nursing and operations teams, and identify meaningful opportunities to strengthen education, processes, staffing, and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow the Nurse Practice Act for licensure.
  • Be responsible for the overall operation and outcomes of designated clinical departments through demonstration of minimized incidents and complaints.
  • Report clinical nursing concerns to the Director of Nursing, including Scope of Practice and Nurse Practice Act inquiries.
  • Participate in hiring, coaching/counseling, and performance reviews alongside the Site Director.
  • Develop a tool and perform routine chart reviews to validate appropriate documentation and practice, providing feedback and education for improvement as needed.
  • Participate as needed in reviewing patient complaints and support opportunities to resolve complaints in a timely manner.
  • Establish orientation schedules for new MAs and perform weekly and off-orientation reviews with the preceptor and Site Director.
  • Ensure proper incident reporting in collaboration with the Compliance Department.
  • Support the development of and perform routine monthly trainings according to the calendar through in-service and/or observation.
  • Support validation of the MA Lead/preceptor before rolling out routine education.
  • Participate in provider meetings to promote increased communication.
  • Evaluate inventory through audits to support clinical oversight, accurate storage, and par level management in support of patient care.
  • Perform routine and focused audits on practices specific to patient care, sterilization, personal care, and issues identified through incident response and follow-up.
  • Modify training to support practice improvement.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and audit requirements to provide documentation.
  • Participate in writing policies, procedures, and protocols for the clinical area as necessary.
  • Provide routine feedback and assist with the ongoing evaluation of clinical services.
  • Foster an environment of learning and report incidents to promote performance.
  • Manage Legacy exposure control plans related to bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective barrier equipment.
  • Wear and/or use safety equipment.
  • Provide appropriate support for onboarding and continued management of infection control processes for clinic-based workers, including placement and reading of TB tests.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Interact with patients, families, visitors, and employees in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner.
  • Foster mature professional relationships with fellow employees in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Maintain professional composure and confidence during stressful situations.
  • Maintain open communication using the appropriate chain of command regarding issues.
  • Conduct all work activities with respect for the rights and wishes of patients, visitors, families, and fellow employees.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all Legacy and patient information at all times.
  • Present a neat appearance in proper attire and identification as required by Legacy policy.
  • Display a positive attitude that contributes to the overall service excellence program at Legacy.
  • Direct other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned.
  • Demonstrate willingness to assume the clinical nurse role as required.
  • Delegate responsibilities based on patient care needs and the skills of the caregiver.
  • Act as a resource person for other staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted Texas RN license or valid compact state licensure.
  • BLS (CPR & AED) Certified.
  • State of Texas Registered Nursing License

Required Years of Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a licensed, registered nurse, preferable in supervision

Desirable Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

  • Strong leadership, customer service, and spoken/written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate self-confidence and positive attitude toward self and other achievement.
  • Excellent team player and communication skills required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize
  • Adept in decision making responsibilities

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

  • Bilingual (Spanish)
